The Imbali Visual Literacy Project (VLP), with the generous outreach program from Alexis Hanslo and The Children’s Art Centre, took root in Kylemore in 2001 and today has 100 children on a once-a-month art workshop program.

This project addresses the need to provide a structured and meaningful program that enhances the visual literacy education of the children in Kylemore. It is our conviction that constructive, structured and creative intervention (especially in the form of art workshops) leads to a renewed interest in learning, as well as to a radical development in self-esteem, that may change the course of young lives which are currently at serious risk.

It costs just R20 (€2) per month to accommodate a child in the VLP class and provide them with a healthy meal and the necessary art materials.

Colour Collaboration

Imbali supports Colour Collaboration

Colour Collaboration educates, supports and develops underprivileged young children. We do this through the sale of original art and donations. We are an altruistic group promoting original art for a cause. We are a collaboration between artists, educators and business. Our purpose is to provide education, art materials and direction to young underprivileged artists, helping them to be their best creative selves.
