My mother started my sewing lessons at the machine when I was four years old. I love doing this work of training the Kylemore community in sewing skills, and seeing how the crafters grow in dexterity and confidence every day. When they first started they were quite in awe of the sewing machines, but now they work like ‘old hands’. So I grow together with them. It makes me happy to see them bring their own creative ideas, go out and optimize their talents, and pass the skills on to others too.
