I have a little boy of four years old who goes to Frank’s Heaven Crèche, where I am very involved as a caring parent. My parents had very little time for me when I grew up because they had to work such long hours to take care of us. I have told my mother that I want to give my son a better future than I now have, so I eventually want to start my own craft business.

The training here has been very valuable, and I enjoy working with the other women at Imbali. I have many creative ideas of my own though, and I don’t want t spend the rest of my life working in a fruit packing shed during the summer months. This is why I hope that I can have the financial support to develop my own business. My aunt has a sewing machine, and my family is quite artistic, so maybe they can help me too.

I would never want to leave Kylemore though. We are a wonderful community, and my family has always been here. At the Centre I can practice the creative sewing that I love, and I am still learning so much.
